Jess didn't look up from her papers, "Yes, I wanted to know if you were interested in staying in the dorms here."
Sapph frowned, "Um, I didn't know the school had dorms..."
She glanced at her over her glasses, "Yes, they're directly behind the school, I could have someone give you a tour if you'd like to consider it."
"Oh, um, I guess so." She wasn't very keen on living in a dorm with a bunch of girls she didn't know, in fact, she hated the idea, but it was better than living with Jason.
Jason Fleming, one of the richest men in town, also owned most of the land and was a professional surgeon who made more money that he could ever hope to spend. He married into the family that had adopted Sapph, except that all of that family had died and her little sister Lizzie Jones was the only one left.
They lived in a huge mansion in Farragut, Tennessee where all of the rich people lived. Sapph took any opportunity to get away from the house because Jason didn't really care for her, the only reason he let her live with him was because of his beloved Lizzie.
Sapph sighed, "I don't need a tour, you don't have to pay do you?"
Jess set her papers down, "Of course you have to pay....but....considering that you're a close family friend and I happen to have an extra dorm no one's staying in, I could let you stay there."
Sapph smiled, an abandoned dorm sounded amazing. "If that's all, Mrs. S, the pleasures all mine."
Mrs. S rolled her eyes at her sarcasm, "Good day, Sapph."
...
Chase tossed his bag onto his bed and looked around the dorm room. Whoever he was rooming with had already decorated their side of the room.
There were different superhero posters and Mario posters covering their side of the room and they'd mostly decorated all of the furniture with different gaming stuff and superheroes.
Chase unpacked his bags and started decorating when the bathroom door opened, the guy jumped then stared at him, "Chase?"
Chase looked up to see his best friend from back in California, C.J. "Hey! What are you doing here?"
C.J. smiled, "Going to school... What brings you back to Tennessee?"
Chase frowned, "My aunt, how about you? I thought you were going to some sort of filming school in CA?"
C.J. smiled, "Going to school... What brings you back to Tennessee?"
Chase frowned, "My aunt, how about you? I thought you were going to some sort of filming school in CA?"
He looked down, "I ran into some difficulties and ended up here, I plan to go to college there, though."
Chase smiled, "Nice decorating."
He looked around at his work and smiled, "Thanks."
He looked around at his work and smiled, "Thanks."
C.J. Ezell was a laid back, peace tea drinking, online gaming type of guy, he had worse luck than anyone Chase knew and was probably the closest friend Chase ever had. C.J. was a tan guy with dark blonde hair and olive green eyes. He always had a cheerful smile and it almost hurt to see him frown.
Chase couldn't have gotten a better roommate. "So, are you going to the back to school party?"
C.J. shrugged, "I wasn't really planning on it, but some blonde girl wanted me to DJ so I said sure. How 'bout you?"
Chase looked down, "Parties aren't my thing..."
Chase looked down, "Parties aren't my thing..."
C.J. raised an eyebrow, Chase was always changing, when he was a little kid he was always kinda nerdy and scared of everything, when he got into middle school he got kinda dark and quiet and towards the end got really preppy and and turned into a jock. But the Chase C.J. knew loved to party, but was also anti-social so he was kind of confusing.
Chase looked down, "I don't know... My aunt would probably think I should go, maybe I should... I guess I'll go hang out with you..."
C.J. smiled, "There's the Chase I know!"
C.J. smiled, "There's the Chase I know!"
...
Sapph looked up at the old dormitory, it was an tall, brick building that looked like it would fall down if you shut a door too hard. Jess got out a ring of keys, examined them, then unlocked the door,"Don't loose this key or I'm afraid I won't be able to give you another one."
"You don't have any spares?"
Jess frowned at her, "This building was built in 1975 and hasn't been used in about 3 centuries, I have four keys and don't intend to give out another. You should be satisfied with me allowing you to live here, I'm technically not supposed to, but I run the school so there's no one stopping me."

Sapph nodded and walked up the stairs to the doorway, "Thanks, Jess." She raised an eyebrow at her, Sapph smiled, "Thanks, Mrs. S."
"You're welcome."
She closed the door behind her and looked around, there was a wide staircase a few yards infront of the entrance, on the right to the stairs was a large lounge (or living room) area, and on the left side of the stairs was a large dining hall (or small cafeteria) and a kitchen to the back of the cafeteria. If you walk up the first flight of stairs you will find two large bathroom/lockerrooms on either side of the wall. Right for boys, left for girls. She walked up to the stairs and examined them.
One step in the middle was missing and a few were cracked, they creaked loudly when you stepped on them.
She found room 17, the room Jess had suggested which was on the second floor.
She unpacked then went out to explore the creepy, abandoned building. The stairs narrowed the higher you went, there were 6 stories, and as you got to the last set of stairs they were so narrow a person could barely fit on them.
She looked around the top floor, there was ten room on each floor, with a total of 60 rooms. It resembled that of an apartment building, rather than the school's more modern dormitories that could hold several students in each room.
She jumped when she heard a noise in room 54. She cautiously walked over there and pushed the door open, she screamed when she saw a figure in front of her.
The boy turned around, just as shocked as her, "What are you doing here!?"
"Justice!?"
Justice regained his breath and tried to slow his heart rate, then asked the question again.
She frowned, "Um, Mrs. S told me no one was living here and let me stay in the dorm, what are you doing here!?"

She frowned, "Um, Mrs. S told me no one was living here and let me stay in the dorm, what are you doing here!?"
He crossed his arms, "She told me the same thing, that doesn't seem like her."
Sapph sighed, "Is it just you?"
He nodded, "And my brother, Zack."
Sapph sighed, "Is it just you?"
He nodded, "And my brother, Zack."
She frowned, "Zack?"
"He's out right now, but yeah, just me and him. Is it just you?"
She nodded, "If you guys were the only ones here, why are you on the 6th floor?"
Justice didn't say anything but grabbed her arm and dragged her into the room, "Look."
She nodded, "If you guys were the only ones here, why are you on the 6th floor?"
Justice didn't say anything but grabbed her arm and dragged her into the room, "Look."
She followed his gaze to the large glass window that took up most of the back wall, "Wow." The view was amazing... You could not only see the entire school grounds, but some of the city and the mountains were beautiful.
He glanced at her, "That's why we picked the 6th floor. Where are you staying?"
"2nd floor, room 17."
He smirked slightly, "You can see the dumpsters great from there."
She laughed, "Are you going to the party?"
He frowned, "Parties aren't my thing. Anyhow. I must be going."

She laughed, "Are you going to the party?"

She turned to say something to him, but noticed he was gone. She frowned and went back down her room to set up her things and get ready for the party. She didn't really have anything better to do.
...
Chase could hear the music and voices from the dorm, he made himself look the best he could then made his way to the gym.
The amount of people made him feel sick, he couldn't remember why he decided to come... He saw C.J. towards the at the DJ station, he waved Chase over and he gladly escaped to the back.
There were four girls standing around C.J. trying to make small talk, but C.J. was oblivious to their flirting. Chase smiled, "Aren't you popular with the ladies." Two of the girls giggled, but the other two looked annoyed with Chase.
C.J. frowned, "What do you mean?"
Chase smiled, "Never mind, what did I miss?"
C.J. shrugged, "Nothing really, just a bunch of dancing and everything else that comes with a party. One girl did however pass out, nothing else that I recall."
Chase looked over at the doors, wanting to leave. He saw Sapph walk in and sighed, "Did you know Sapph's here?"
C.J. looked up, "What?"
Sapph and C.J. used to be a couple, it was really serious and Chase didn't know what happened but they broke up.
Sapph frowned at the chaos and made her way to the punch table, C.J. blinked, "Are you sure it's her?"
Chase nodded, "I talked to her."
C.J. looked away, "Hey I gotta run a few more tracks, I'll catch up with you later, okay?" Chase waved and went to find some food.
He bumped into someone, "I'm so sorry!"
He looked to see Bloom Morris standing there, her drink spilt on her dress, "Oh my," she looked up,"it's okay..."
He frowned, "I'm really so sorry!"
She smiled, "It's fine, I didn't really like this dress..."
He grabbed some napkins and started awkwardly wiping her dress, she stared at him with an awkward look. He blushed and handed her the napkins, "Sorry..."
She smiled, "It's fine."
He blinked, and out of nervousness stupidly asked her to dance.
She smiled awkwardly and accepted since she didn't know what to say.
They danced for a little while then Bloom gasped, looking behind him. Chase turned around to see
Justice was standing there with a look of discomfort. "Here."
He shoved Chase's duct tape into his hands then left.
Chase blinked, "Um, sorry 'bout that..."
Bloom frowned, "You know him?"
Chase looked back at her, "Justice?"
Bloom shrugged, "I guess so, I never heard his name before... Everyone just calls him 'the freak.' "
Chase frowned, "I don't think he's a freak..."
"I don't really think he's a freak, but he's definitely... different. One of my friends says he stole her purse and used all her allowance to buy a life stock of pancake mix."
Chase stared at her, "Pancake mix? How do you know that?"
She shrugged, "I don't know, that's just what she said... It does seem really creepy."
Chase shrugged, "I'd say moody."
Bloom smiled, "Well, I think it's cool that you talked to him, oh, hey that's my boyfriend, gotta go. See ya'!" She disappeared into the crowd.
He blinked, "Boyfriend?"

...
Sapph felt someone tap her on her shoulder and turned around to see her ex, Jake. "Jake?"
He smiled, "Long time no see, what's up?"
She crossed her arms, they didn't exactly break up on good terms, "Stop talking to me."
He smiled, "Long time no see, what's up?"

Jake frowned.
Sapph reached for her bag, then realized it was gone, "Hey! Someone stole my backpack!" She saw a glimpse of her bag disappear into the crowd and ran after it. She skipped to a stop when she saw Justice holding it, with a big grin on his face.
"Hey!" She punched his shoulder, making him drop the back and caught it before it fell, "You can't just steal people's things!"
He stared at her, "What!? I got it from the jerk who did!"
She glared at him, "Whatever," and huffed away.

He blinked, last time Backpack Man tries to do something nice for someone...
